I played the shit out of this album 10 summers ago — a pure pleasure listen that doesn’t detract from whatever else I’m doing (I used to draw a lot with this on).
When I’m pressed I’d say I like Tricky or Massive Attack more, but they’re not always right when other people are around, or when I just want to sip on some gin-something outside, waiting for the sun to set, so I can turn on the deck lights, which is why I guess places like Starbucks and Gap played the shit out of this too, which is why I’d say I like Tricky or Massive Attack more when I’m pressed.
But that’s the past and so St. Germain’s Tourist is back in my summer regular rotation.
